Integrity.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(In-Teg-Ri-Tee)-
adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.

So what does it do? Something inside humans is just known for taking the easy way out of things, we do not want to take our own precious time out of our life to be honest with ourselves so we look towards more sinful actions such as "grabbing" and "taking" others things to truly comfort ourselves with our own misfortunes. It leads to terrible things in life, if you cannot be honest with yourself how are you going to convince others your truth?

It takes one, to know one. And integrity can be more than one sided and viewd in many different ways. It takes integrity to be yourself, create things of your own for personal satisfaction. But it also takes integrity to rip others apart by stealing, taking what truly isn't their and calling it their own.

It takes honesty to be human, but it takes honesty to bluntly lie about what your doing to others to better ignite your true feelings for yourself. Honesty should be something which should be higher on the scale of rankings in society but its sad to say that telling the truth means nothing to people these days. It saddens me that liars, thieves, and fake people can get away with such a crime that should be no different than any other horrible action taking place.

My Person Definition.
When in action, are you true to yourself? Let personal integrity be your guide. It is the foundation laid by a humans supposed standards at the beginning. At the end of the day, it is the simple truth of what one makes of it. It is a human being's moral compass. That is what personal integrity means to me.

-Its just nasty to see what other people are capable of doing to their own lives to try to become something they clearly not. Anyways i could go on about this subject for hours. But i feel like my main point has been left and i shall leave it at theat.

Stereotypical Society.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

To start off, this is not to offend others or target a certain audience at all.

My name is Dejenee Shiflet, stereotypes mean more to me than just people having fun. When i feel the dark mood spread across my body of being ranked based upon something i cannot help because it is in my blood, it angers me. I know each and every one of us at some point or another in our lives have been faced with this type of discrimination. It's not something that needs to go unlooked upon because this is a serious downfall of todays reality.

Stereotypes are towards EVERYTHING in life. People, activities, hobbies, food, objects, anything you can think of can be stereotyped against. So why? I ask myself this question all the time and i challenge you to ask yourself it too. Why is that we think we can be better than others because of our personal background, family traits, physical appearance..etc. Is it because that's what most of us have been grown up with? Or because we like to put others down because of our own disadvantages at humanity? Give yourself an honest answer even if its not between these too. Lying to ourselves about who we are will never get us anywhere.

Feelings hurt, Dreams crushed, Opportunities smashed all because of reckless words others have said to one another in the hope to bring you down. It may seem like laughs and giggles when happening but you never truly know how it feels until you too are in someone elses shoes that you are hurting.

Stereotypes can bring people down, cause disruption in everyday life, and most importantly bring people down to depths of serious regret and hopelessness. Just keep it mind the next time words of judgment flow beyond the tips of your lips.

Here is my stereotype poem:
You can categorize me and put me in a list
You can call me what you want, even alienist
I am me, my own kind, a simple original
You can stare and even make me emotional
But the tears that fall from others words
Come along with smiles and happiness afterwards

Although sterotypes are a thing of today
Its up to us to gather and not dismay
Bring kindness and brightness to those in the dark
Give them a smile and bring a spark
Love each other and leave a mark
To others to always remember you are you
Its simple, its nothing new.

I am who I am, that is me
No matter what color or shape that maybe
I am proud to call me by my name
Dejenee Renee there is no same

Yours truly,
Dejenee

Why Should The World Know...

Confessions... Secrets... Hidden...

You cannot share or even distribute your worst fears in your mind let alone on the web. What I've come across on flickr is more than just a community group, Its a helping hand reaching out to others in pain and distress. People whom we have never met and some never even made any contact before, but the gift of these fine beings is that they are willing to listen. They want to hear and help conquer your deepest secrets thats have been bottled up inside. Its miraculous that there are still amazing people (teenagers) who can make a difference in this world we live in where we feel pressured, unwanted, hopeless. But they want this to change.

Its a beautiful feeling to be omitted by others who have similar problems as yourself. Getting up and putting yourself out there for a community of thousands maybe millions to see your picture with the "Why Should the World Know" saying posted on your body takes courage and pride. Not everyone can be this strong to share themselves but this group brings hope to ones eyes and lets them into a door of brightness and aspiration. & this is more of what this world needs to see, that there will always be a tomorrow whether it is a bright one or not is up to simply, you.

So you may ask why in the world am i writing about this? Well this fantastic group tagged a photo and put me in it on flickr and i browsed the group page and i fell in love with the concept, i want to help spread the word of this group and make it more than it is today. Because the secrets of children, teens, and adults bewilder our bodies until we let them out and let them free from our souls. This has truly touched me in a way that i cannot even explain and all i can do is simply thank the creators of this amazing message.

For anyone who is interested
please check out this group, your mind will go wild lol.

Rainy Days.

A day of distress? A day of sadness? Or a day of chance?

Rainy days always give me the feeling of depression, its cold and windy. The windows are layerd with a thin coat of fog, washed away by the doodles of my fingerprints. They feel uncomfortable as if when you look out your window there is no hope in trying to move forward or waiting for a tomorrow filled with sun rays and fulfillment. These days bring be down to depths that i no longer want to repeat.

I now view these days as a chance for thinking and ideas to flow through my mind. Its an opportunity to sit at home with my journal and let my head do the work for a change. Something comes over the soul in complete relaxation. I breathe in the rainy days and breathe out dares that i would of never thought before. These are the best days for a human at any givin time. The best photo and poems come to my mind during this 24 hour day.

I now await for the next rainy day to come comfort me at my depths and to take my breathe away. To take me into another fairy tale and allow my mind to wonder along the midst of dreaming and bring me back with the best inventions my head has ever thought.

thank you rainy days<3
you are a dream come true.

Somebody has to say it.

Recently i have been streaming through tons of flickr profiles and face book pages. And what ive been seeing is everyone is so unhappy with life and are down at a point in there life where they think they are hopeless and not worth anything. I just wanted to let you all know that life is amazing and you should be more the grateful your alive.Just remember there will always be a tomorrow. I know that everyone goes through a hard time or another but you gotta picl yourself up and realize that your human and thats something that happened in everyones day to day life. If your not happy with who you are then simply change it. No one else has the ability to make your life better except you. So maybe instead of being down and letting others know your downfall pick yourself up and get your mind off the topic.

here are a few things you could do if you are ever in this situation.
1. Listen to music (not depressing)
2. Hang out with friends.
3. Write about it in a personal journal of some sort (But once your done writing remind yourself that what happened is now in the past.. your thoughts are down on paper now and that chapter in your life is over)
4. hang out with friends. (friends should be the ones who know you more than others and should be fantastic at sheering you up)
5. Be productive. (Sports, Art work, anything)
6. open your eyes to the future and let them leave the past.

And i know that all this may sound like common sense but trust me ive been down roads i will never want to return again and it sounds like the easiest thing to do until you are in the situation. And im not saying any of this out of spite because i do the same thing too. Its just sad to see how many people arent happy with life because of someone else or something they did years before.

So just a message to my fellow friends that life is fantastic. Live it to its fullest capabilities right or wrong its life and its bound to happen.<3

Trapped Mind

Here is a picture from the most recent shoot we did on November 8th. Photography is very meaningful to me, and there is nothing else i would do day in and day out of my life time. For many its a hobby, but for me it really is part of my life style. I am fortunate enough to have people surrounding me who also love to do  things similar. Photography isnt just a outlet for me its a way for me to express who i am without having to say words. Because at times i find myself with so much on my mind but no way to explain it and with taking pictures its a lot easier. I am looking forward to the months ahead with my 52 week project group. Its a group me and a few people are putting on for ANY photographers/writers/bloggers/& poets to have a chance at expressing your feelings through a theme each week. I am looking forward to that very much.

I recently moved to the Dominican Republic.. which leaves me with a lack of people who are willing to be my model:/ its a huge downfall! but hopefully i can start meeting more people interested :)
